We started in Jackson Hole. I love it up there!
Then off to Granite Creek for a little camp out with Andrew's family. It was so beautiful. My boys LOVE camping.
It is amazing how quickly a 30lb kid in a 10lb pack can turn your legs into jello. It was humbling to realize how out of shape I am.
There is nothing like a good mile walk to wear out a little buddy.
It doesn't take much to keep a little duders entertained on a camp out. A little hill, toy truck and a bucket to collect rocks are all he needs.
Warren loved roasting marshmellows. He loved it so much that when we took the roaster away for fear he was going to not only hurt himself but all involved, he cried so hard he passed out. What a stinker. I never thought I would say this, but I am glad he had done it before so I know what to expect after, or we would have been making a long drive to town to find a doctor. After he passes out he is so lethargic it's scary. His doctor told us it's like a mini seizure and wipes him out. Hopefully what they say is true and there won't be any permanent brain damage!
It's amazing what a parent will do to keep a child entertained for a 5 hour road trip!
We made it home just in time for my dad's birthday party. Literally. We pulled in our driveway, showered and were back in the car in less than an hour. We went to Red Butte Gardens. I can't believe we haven't ever been there. It was amazing. The only problem was a little snag in the design of the gardens. There is a little splash park followed by a play area with RED SAND!!! Wet little boys and red sand don't mix well so Warren spent a lot of time in his diaper.
A summer isn't complete without a good Rodeo. The Oakley Rodeo is always my favorite. What a shame that it was cool enough to have to wear a jacket. What was with the weather last week?? Rain, rain go away!!!!
Team Big Fish had an entry in the Riverton Parade.
We stopped by Fred and Kelly's to see their horses in their little wonderland. Warren loved it!
Then the Fourth of July!!! It was perfect. We were so worn out from all of our activities that we didn't get out of bed until 9:00!!! Even Warren slept in. Instead of doing the traditional town breakfast we went to the store and bought bacon, sausage and eggs to bbq on our own. It was yummy! Later that night we went to my parents for more yummy, yummy Kemp style summer food. It was all perfect. I am a good 5lbs heavier, but it was worth it.
mmmmmm.....
mmmmmm.....
mmmmm.....
mmmmmmm..... Those who knew Grandma Kemp know even if you serve cotton candy she didn't approve of it being served in it's original package. It must be presented well. Whenever we put something out like chips in their bag we say "what would grandma say?" She even busted out the china when we brought Wendy's home to eat. Now my mom carries on the style of Grandma Kemp.
Andrew and I found the greatest place to view fireworks with nobody around. Sleeping babies and crowds don't mix well so it was perfect. Our little town did a fabulous job and put on one of the best fireworks shows I have seen in a long time.
Our little buddy was a trooper. Even with an ear infection and possible flu he was a good little boy. We just wore him out. Now it's time to tackle the pile of laundry that it taller than me so we can do it all again in another crazy week.
